MISSION & VISION

Mission:

“To proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, making disciples of all people, leading them to demonstrate God’s love to one another, the community, and the world."

Vision:

Faithful in Word; Joyful in Fellowship; Gifted to Serve

"God does not delay in granting vision.  He promises to grant vision to those who wait for it (Habakkuk 2:2-3).  From the very early years of TLO, God has granted vision to this congregation turning hearts blinded by sin to faith in God's love through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  We believe at this time in the history of TLO, the Holy Spirit is planting in our hearts a vision for the future. We pray that the Lord will bless our congregation in moving toward this vision."

Faithful in Word:
  • Confidently accepting that God’s Word is Truth (2 Tim 3:16).

  • Teaching the true Word of God to our neighbors, community, and world (Matt. 28:19).

  • Being daily in the Word and constant in prayer.

  • Living according to God’s calling in Christ Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit.

  • Faithfully attending worship services to hear God’s Word and to receive God’s grace through the Sacraments.

  • Growing in our relationship with Jesus Christ, our crucified, resurrected, and ascended Savior.

Joyful in Fellowship:
  • Walking together in joyful fellowship with other Christians (3 John 1:4).

  • Excelling in building each other up in the Church and helping each other stay faithful.

  • Our joy being centered in God’s grace, presence, and peace.

  • Holding fellow Christians accountable to God’s Word through honest relationships (Col 1:11).

  • Celebrating our joyful fellowship as we receive Jesus Christ’s forgiveness in Holy Communion (1 Cor. 11: 23-28).

Gifted to Serve:
  • Being called by Christ to use our gifts to build up the Body of Christ.

  • Everyone has been given spiritual gifts distributed according to the will of the Holy Spirit (Heb 2:4).

  • Having a true, active faith that will demonstrate itself through good works (James 2).

  • Being willing to use our gifts to serve others wherever we are in our faith walk.
